Wow, looking back at 2016 I am blown away at everything that happened! Unfortunately I didn’t really blog about any of it, I was having such a difficult time keeping up with it all. I chose 1 image from each session I had this year, as well as 1 image from (almost) all my personal adventures. I want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to my clients, friends and family for your continued support for me, my family and my business. Hoping to see some new faces this year, and blog more of 2017 before it’s over!
The first week of February this year I took a huge leap of faith and did Spring Portraits for my daughter’s school Chico Country Day. This was the 2nd year taking on this huge project and I was SCARED! Last year, there were a lot of firsts, and a few missteps, that resulted in a not so extremely successful outcome. Because of that, I had a difficult time convincing myself to give it “one more try”. I had to dig deep and remind myself WHY I do what I do. I love taking portraits of children because I can connect with them easily and get some great portraits as a result. These black-background portraits strip away all the distractions and allow you to really focus in on your child (which is the point of school portraits, right?!?). I love the whimsical nature of children and by allowing them to “pose” themselves, each portrait is truly unique and special! It was so much fun working with all these amazing kids again (even the tough, stubborn ones)! I am grateful to the Staff and Parents that supported me and encouraged me to offer this unique and special Spring Portrait Event to the school!
If you would like me to come to YOUR school to do pictures, I’d love to talk with you and discuss all the fun details!
Today was so much fun! I finally got to go up to the snow and play around taking pictures of the beautiful Amy Roenspie and her witty beau Chris to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their daughter Jenny Lynn! Riding up to Butte Meadows, there were many people out with their families sledding and playing around in the snow. We were very lucky to find a nice spot overlooking the creek with nobody around! I had a blast capturing this new family today and can’t wait to meet Jenny in a few short weeks!
I’ll be at the studio from 9:00 to 4:00, and offering portraits from 9:30-3:00 Saturday 9-19-15 AND Monday 9-21-15. You can reserve your time by selecting the date/time of your choice below (there’s no charge I just wasn’t able to do a custom paypal button for some reason). If there’s a time not listed, please contact me and we can work something out.
