Spring is here and it brought some wonderful temps!  Jeff and the girls took me to Horseshoe Lake by Upper Bidwell Park on Sunday.  The past few weekends Jeff’s been taking the girls there while I was working and this was the first time I’ve been able to join them.  WOW!!  It’s the last place in Chico (I believe) that allows dogs to run off the leash.  Normally I get very anxious and tense while around strange dogs (childhood trauma) but they all behaved themselves.  They were all so distracted with running in the lake for sticks (or logs in some cases) they could care less about all the other dogs around.  It was awesome to see so many happy-go-lucky dogs in the same place.  🙂  I was proud of myself for not freaking out and really enjoying the time with Jeff and the girls.  I tried to take each girl to do legitimate portraits, and I was shocked that Chloe was the one to cooperate with me.  I can’t wait to go back again and again!

Today was BEAUTIFUL!!!   We’ve got a break in the storm system passing through, so we ventured outside to soak up some sun and fresh air.  I don’t know what it is about the popcorn clouds, but they make me happy.  Throw in orchards with blooming pink flowers and deep blue sky and I’m like a kid in a candy store.

After the visit to the orchards, we went over to Nana Cindy’s to blow some bubbles.  Another one of my favorite things are kids blowing bubbles.  Keep your eyes out for another post soon where Chloe’s blowing them straight at the camera!  What was challenging for me was the clouds were moving pretty quickly over the sun so I had to keep adjusting the levels in my camera to properly expose the pics.  Still, so much fun!

This one is fun for me… it’s hard to see the edges of the bubble and almost makes it look like a little tiny window to another world.  😉

I am very excited to announce a new addition to my photography services – a portable studio!!  With the help of the generous photogs over at The Image is Found who are cool enough to sell the specs to their “Crazybooth”, I’ve been blessed enough to be able to invest in my own!  This past Sunday I was able to set it up and get my friends and family to jump in to help me try it out.  We all had a blast!  This setup will enable me to offer an entirely new branch of services.  I can bring it to your parties, wedding receptions, holiday gatherings, studio portraits, basically ANY event that will accomodate a 12ft x 12ft space for me.  I will eventually be getting different backdrops too just to switch it up a bit.

If you’re interested in reserving a date for portraits with my new studio, drop me a line at 530-680-3399 or send me a message to jenskibo@yahoo.com

Chloe received a birthday invitation a month ago in the mail from a friend in Sacramento.  She was to come dressed as her favorite princess!  Immediately after reading the invitation, Chloe looks up at me and says “Mommy, I’m going to dress up as Snow White”.  She was sooooo excited to go and asked me everyday to count with her on the calendar how many days were left before we could go down and party with all the other princesses.  Unfortunately, the birthday girl got sick and had to postpone her special party.  Jeff and I decided to all dress up and go have a Princess Luncheon with the girls.  They had so much fun!  They attracted lots of attention and seemed to brighten up everyone’s day.  We’re going to do this each month with the girls and work on getting crowns for everyone next time!
